This is a Java-version reboot of the Hollow Empire SMP on Minefort.com, which was hacked and griefed. The players did their best to keep it alive, but without a recent backup, it just continued to go downhill until it finally died. Not only that, but the original owner and admin of the server lost interest and abandoned it altogether.

The remaining admin has no desire to continue paying for & playing on a server that uses the Paper/Spigot plugin model because the available mods are (in her opinion) far inferior to Java/Forge mods. The server is now hosted on Bisect.com, with a much higher player capacity than the former server, and an overall better experience. Unfortunately this means that console players do not have access, perhaps when Forge modloader and bedrock minecraft become compatible, this will change.

To install the modpack, you will need to have the Curseforge launcher. Download the modpack here, then create a new profile and choose "Import Existing" at the top of the create profile options.

A Few Helpful Commands

1. Teleport to Random Place : /trigger darkrtp
2. Set your skin : /skin set [name or url]
3. Clear your skin : /skin clear

We will do our best to make sure that you don't lose your valuables by server mistake! We care about our players' builds and respect the time they put in to make them, so we will never fully reset the server without a majority vote from our players, and will make backups of the server DAILY around midnight CST (this requires a server shutdown/restart). Due to limited space, however, only the 2 most recent updates will be kept.

Server Rules

1. PvP - PVP enabled in the wilderness, however members of a team are protected against player attacks while inside their claim.
2. Griefing - Harassing other players is not allowed. This includes stealing, luring mobs to them or their base, using exploits to destroy structures and items on claimed territory, bullying, etc.
3. Money - Members of the server are not allowed to charge real money for any in-game item or anything else that breaks the Minecraft Terms of Service. If you wish to make money from your faction members, you must do so in a way that won't get the server taken down or it's admins in legal trouble.
4. Conduct - No politics, religion, bigotry or sexually explicit conduct. This is an inclusive space where everyone should feel welcome, as well as a safe place for minors. Respect for others is not and should not be a political issue, don't try to make it one. If there are no admins online, please screenshot inappropriate conduct and tag an admin in our Discord server. We'll deal with it as soon as we can.

Getting Started

A bit of information to help new players who might be overwhelmed :)

• Lots of mods = Lots of keybind conflicts. Fix your keybinds, if a key isn't working like you expect, this is likely the reason.
• You will be asked to choose an Origin. If you don't want to use this feature, choose "Human". Some of these origins will make the game EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.
• You will be asked to make an MCA apperance/genetics. You can ignore this if you don't want to use this feature, however you may want to look through the default Traits you are given to make sure you don't have a trait that affects your character in a way you don't want.
• There's a skin-changer in game, so if you get randomly assigned a skin you don't like, you can change it.
• You will be asked where you want to spawn. I recommend plains village. "Somewhere" is the world spawn point - in the middle of a giant desert with no trees.
• You will recieve a login rewards bag the first time you log in. Has a sword, some boots, some food, and a torch.
• Villagers don't trade for emeralds anymore, they use the Lightmans Currency system. 1 emerald - 1 gold coin (trades are otherwise unchanged)
• Villagers can be asked talked to, hired on as help, asked to follow/stay, etc. in addition to the usual Trade function.
• Temperature is a thing. Getting too hot or too cold WILL kill you. Craft wool gear for the cold and leaf gear for the heat.
• Thirst is a thing. You can drink from any water source using shift-rightclick and an empty hand, but it's faster to use Apple Juice.
• Water must be purified first before it can be turned into a juice
• A Water Purifier can be crafted with 2 Planks, 1 Sand, 1 Charcoal, and 5 Glass.
• Breaking land blocks (stone, dirt, sand) has a chance to also spawn other items like food, sticks, or gemstones (and yes, even diamonds, but rarely)
• You can make ceramic shears from clay. Comes in handy if you find it difficult to find Iron.
• You can make sleeping bags with 3 wool, that let you sleep at night without resetting your spawn point.
• Campfires will heal you, but they also generate heat, so be careful not to overheat
• To start using magic, craft a Spell Book! Recipe is 1 each of Book, Iron Sword, Iron Shovel, Iron Pick, and Iron Axe.
• To create spells, read magic documentation, etc: while holding your spellbook, press V (or whatever key you bound to this function in your Keybinds settings)

Mods

Optifine is currently NOT supported, as it conflicts with several mods!

I highly recommend using the CLARITY resourcepack! But it's certainly not necessary :)

Our plugin list is subject to change at any time without notice as we figure out what works, what doesn't, and tweak the configuration files. This list also does not show the required library mods, but rest assured they are there. If you are looking through the full list of mods and notice entries that aren't below, it's probably required by something that is.

It bears mentioning that the configuration files are only partially modified, the admins have not yet had a chance to go through the entire enormous list, but most features are working as intended. • Lightman's Currency - Mobs drop coins that villagers use to trade. Set up your own vending machines to sell to other players! Craft a wallet that automatically picks up coins, use an ATM to transfer those coins to your personal bank account to keep them safe.

• L_Ender's Cataclysm - Adds a bunch of new bosses and structures to house them!
• Lootr - Instances most chests and barrels in the world so that each player can get the loot!
• Origins - Allows you to choose an origin for your character that provides benefits and drawbacks, changing your style of play
• Open Parties and Claims - Allows you to create teams and claim land (20 chunks by default), affording various protections to yourself and team members including prevention of monster spawns within the claimed area and disallowing players not in your team to break blocks, pick up items, etc.
• Pam's Harvestcraft - Fruit trees and vegetable bushes spawn in the world, and adds a huge number of new food recipes that use them and new tools for cooking.
• Realm RPG - Fallen Adventurers - Adds a variety of lootable/breakable skeletons to the land. Watch out, sometimes the skeleton will rise to attack you for stealing it's belongings!
• Waystones - Find pillars in the world that can teleport you to other waystones that you've found. They're craftable too!
• Xaeros Minimap - Offers a detailed world map with waypoints, mob locations, teleportation, and integration with Open Parties & Land Claims.
• Xaeros World Map - Shows the world map in the corner of your screen, all mini-like.

• Create - Multiblock machine systems to build epic railways and realistic passenger or freight trains, automated crafting, and tons of other things!
• Applied Energistics - High-tech storage systems to keep all your items organized.
• Laendli Transport - Train's not autonomous enough? Craft steam-powered motorcars and airships! Cars drive faster over stone blocks than over grass, and need slabs to go uphill. Makes roads worth having.
• Everything is Copper - Annoyed that copper is everywhere but there's hardly any in-game use for it? Fret no more! Now you can make tools, armor, lots of blocks, and plenty of other things out of copper.
• Craftable Chainmail - Self explanatory.
• Craftable Saddles - Self explanatory.
• Epic Knights - New armor, weapons, shields and Banners in a european medeival knight theme.
• Trapcraft - Craft a variety of traps, including fans, igniters, and the ever-popular spike trap!
• Macaws Doors - A huge variety of new doors in all the basic wood colors

• Exline's Furniture Mod - Even more furniture! Cushioned chairs, lamps, sofas, ceiling fans, etc.

• DarkRTP - Random Teleportation. Takes about 15 seconds to take effect. Use command /trigger darkrtp
• Comforts - Craft sleeping bags to rest without resetting your spawn point!
• Rechiseled - Tons of new appearances for most block material types!
• Better Advancements - Reworks the Advancements page to be a bit easier to read.
• Better Safe Bed - Allows you to sleep even with monsters nearby, if those monsters are behind a door or otherwise unable to reach you.
• Ceramic Shears - Make shears from clay, don't waste your iron!
• Cosmetic Armor Reworked - Adds slots for armor that allow your character to keep their look while wearing something different.
• Curios - Adds many slots for different types of accessories, like Rings, necklaces, charms, wallet, etc.
• DarkMining - Adds a random chance to recieve an additional item when mining basic blocks like Dirt, Stone, Sand, Etc. Meant to reward players who prefer to stay aboveground for landscaping their territory.
• DarkQuesting - Adds a bunch of additional quests to the Achievements system, with experience and/or item rewards for completing each one.
• DarkStarter - Gives new players a small bag of items to get started. (Stone Sword, Leather boots, Bread, Apples, and a Torch)
• Ender Chested - Equip your horse with Ender chests.
• Fisherman's Trap - Passively catches fish for players too busy to do it themselves.
• Falling Tree - No more floating trees!
• Gravestone Mod - Spawns a gravestone where you die with all your items in (Only you can break it)and gives you an Obituary with the coordinates of your death and a list of what you dropped.
• Healing Campfire - Stay a while and Listen! Hanging out near a campfire will heal you. Be careful though, in warm weather this can cause you to overheat!
• Improvable Skills 3 - Craft a Skill Book to improve your character's abilities.
• Just Another Rotten Flesh to Leather Mod - Save the cows! Smelt rotten flesh into leather!
• Just Enough Items (JEI) - A handy dandy list of recipes on the left hand of your screen. Not as limited as the default recipe book!
• Legendary Tooltips - Gives a fancier border on tooltips based on the quality of the item
• Milk All the Mobs - Adds the ability to milk sheep, goats, horses etc.
• Nature's Compass - Helps you find any biome in the world.
• No Farmland Trample - Because it's just freaking annoying
• No Increasing Repair Costs - Because again, it's really annoying.
• Polymorph - Recipe not giving the item you expected? This mod helps with recipe conflicts by allowing you to choose which item you want to craft with the same recipe.
• Silence Mobs - Adds an item you can craft to make your pets and livestock quiet. **
• SkinChanger - Allows you to change your character skin and cape in/game with a simple command.
• Stackable Stew and Soups - Because it's weird that they don't.
• Stackable Potions - Again, because it's weird that they don't.
• Tiny Redstone - For more compact circuit systems.
• Vein Mining - Allows you to mine entire veins of ore instead of just one at a time. **
• Why Stacks of 16? - Increases the stack size of most items that only stacked in 16 to 64 like most other things.
• Wool Tweaks - mostly just lets you craft wool into string.

• ========== CHEAT PROTECTION & PERFORMANCE ==========
• AntiXRay - Protects against many types of x-ray exploits.
• SerializationIsBad - Fixes the vulnerabilities that were present in several curseforge mods.
• Simple Login - Protects your account by storing a password that you create, thus preventing players with cracked clients from logging in with your username and playing as you.
• Clumps - Groups experience orbs into clusters to reduce the number of entities that need to be rendered.
• Entity Culling - stops the rendering of entities you can't see.
• No See, No Tick - Increases performance by disabling ticks on entities you can't see
• ModernFix - A variety of tweaks and bugfixes that greatly improve performance of modern versions of minecraft
• Nether Portal Fix - Helps portals remember where you came from in multiplayer.
• XL Packets - Increases allowed packet size to decrease probability of login timeout.

• BetterFPS - Render Distance - boosts fps by rendering less stuff your character can't see, above and below them.
• Equipment Compare - Compare the equipment you're looking at to the equipment you're wearing.
• Legendary Tooltips - Gives a fancier border on tooltips based on the quality of the item (Requires Iceberg and Prism)
• Condensed Ores - Adds rarely-spawning condensed versions of minecraft ore blocks that drop more than one ore item.
• No Fog - Removes fog from the game for a performance boost.
• No Cubes Reloaded - Smooths out a lot of the sharp corners on natural blocks like dirt and stone.
